a "non-objective self-portrait" created for art 450, digital manipulation
the "Dictionary Selections" series that I "painted" on canvas panels grew out of my fascination with the visuals of dictionary text and layouts, as first explored in this image. There's something that's nicely antiquarian about it, with every word neatly in its place and clearly defined, with seriffed fonts and crisp line diagrams. Very anachronistic, and very fun.
